Checkpoint blockade and the stem‐like T cell trade‐off
Stem‐like T cells are key to the success of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1) blockade, as they sustain long‐term anti‐tumor response by continuously generating effector CD8+ T cells. However, how these cells are maintained in cancer is not fully understood. Hor et al.

A non-separable stochastic model for pulse-like ground motions [PDF]
A phenomenological non-separable non-stationary stochastic model is proposed to represent near-fault pulse-like ground motions (PLGMs) by means of a parametrically defined evolutionary power spectrum (EPSD). Numerical data pertaining to ensembles of EPSD

A LOFAR view on the duty cycle of young radio sources [PDF]
Compact Steep Spectrum, Gigahertz Peaked Spectrum and High Frequency Peak (CSS, GPS, HFP) sources are considered to be young radio sources but the details of their duty cycle are not well understood.

Comorbid Analysis of Genes Associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders Reveals Differential Evolutionary Constraints. [PDF]
The burden of comorbidity in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is substantial. The symptoms of autism overlap with many other human conditions, reflecting common molecular pathologies suggesting that cross-disorder analysis will help prioritize autism gene ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Spectroscopic evolution of dusty starburst galaxies [PDF]
By using a one-zone chemical and spectrophotometric evolution model of a disk galaxy undergoing a dusty starburst, we investigate, numerically, the optical spectroscopic properties in order to explore galaxy evolution in distant clusters.

Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Spectral Analysis of Protein-Protein Interactions in Drosophila melanogaster
Within a case study on the protein-protein interaction network (PIN) of Drosophila melanogaster we investigate the relation between the network's spectral properties and its structural features such as the prevalence of specific subgraphs or duplicate ...
