In Situ and Ex Situ Conservation of Chinese Plants

In total, 28,385 higher plants were distributed in the nature reserves, accounting for 77.0% of the total number of higher plants in China. Among them, there are 3842 species which are effectively protected; 2478 species are better protected. More than 84.4% endangered species grow in national and/or provincial natural reserves.

Ex-situ bioremediation of chlorobenzenes in soil

Chlorinated benzenes, including chlorobenzene (CB) and 1,2-dichlorobenzene (DCB) are widely used as chemical intermediates and solvents across industry. Soil contaminated with these compounds was treated in a pilot-scale trial in 6 m3 cells. Air was drawn through each cell and exhausted via an activated carbon (GAC) filter system.

Cholangiocarcinoma represents a difficult cancer with poor prognosis. It is not a common disease, and may occur anywhere along the intrahepatic or extrahepatic biliary tree. Cholangiocarcinoma usually presents with painless jaundice, and this diagnosis should be considered in every case of obstructive jaundice.
