Magnetic Susceptibility and Aromaticity in the Excited States of Phenanthrene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A numerical method for obtaining the change in energy due to a magnetic field of given strength is applied to calculations of π-electronic delocalization susceptibilities of the low-lying excited states of phenanthrene.

Multi-State Density Functional Theory for Ground and Excited States

open access: yes, 2021
We report a rigorous formulation of multi-state density functional theory (MSDFT) that extends the Kohn-Sham (KS) energy functional for the ground state to a Hamiltonian matrix functional H[D] of the density matrix D in the space spanned by the lowest N ...

Microscopic Parameters in the Excited State of Toluene and Some of Its Haloderavatives [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2010
The Ultraviolet-visible (UV) spectra of toluene, ortho-bromo and para-bromo toluene in different solvents have been studied. The electric dipole moments and polarizabilities in the molecular excited electronic states were determined.

Properties of excited B states in QCD

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
The mass and leptonic decay constants of recently observed two new excited $B_c$ states at LHC are studied within the QCD sum rules. Considering the contributions of the ground and radially excited states, the mass and residues of the excited states of pseudoscalar and vector mesons are calculated in the framework of two different approaches of the QCD

Unrevealing mechanism of the thermal tautomerization of avobenzone by means of quantum chemical computations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2016
Avobenzone (4-tert-butyl-4’-methoxydibenzoylmethane) is one of the most widely used UVA filters in cosmetic sunscreens. Reactivity of avobenzone is complex and challenging to understand, due to a presence of transient tautomers.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Magnetic Susceptibility and Aromaticity in the Excited States of Pyrene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A numerical methods for obtaining the change in energy due to a magnetic field of given strength is applied to calculations of π-electronic delocalization susceptibilities of the low-lying excited states of pyrene. It is found that the delocalization ...

Excited states of 11Be

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2001
AbstractThe 11B(7Li,7Be)11Be reaction at 57 MeV incident energy was studied at forward angles in order to explore the 11Be excitation energy spectrum. The 11Be ground state and the states at E∗=0.32,1.77,2.67,3.41,3.89,3.96,6.05 MeV excitation energies were populated. The state at 6.05 MeV (FWHM 320±40 keV) has not been previously observed.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
