Calculation of neutral beam deposition accounting for excited states [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Large-scale neutral-beam auxillary heating of plasmas has led to new plasma operational regimes which are often dominated by fast ions injected via the absorption of an energetic beam of hydrogen neutrals.

Ab initio study of ground and low excited states of NH radical

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版, 2020
We study the ground state and low excited states of NH radical by using the CCSD(T) method in the coupled cluster theory and the secondary configuration interaction QCISD(T) method combined with the aug-cc- pv5z basis set.

Ultrafast stimulated Raman study of the complete reactive potential energy surface of a photomolecular rotor [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy (FSRS) reports on structure and dynamics of excited states. Here we record FSRS for a photomolecular motor in its stable and metastable states, and thus map the entire excited state PES.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Spectrum and wave functions of excited states in lattice gauge theory

open access: yes, 2008
We suggest a new method to compute the spectrum and wave functions of excited states. We construct a stochastic basis of Bargmann link states, drawn from a physical probability density distribution and compute transition amplitudes between stochastic ...

Excited States and Collectivity in 88Se

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
The γ decays of excited states in the very neutron-rich nucleus 88Se have been observed following the cold neutron-induced fission of 235U at the PF1B facility of the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), Grenoble.

Selective manipulation of electronically excited states through strong light–matter interactions

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Strong coupling between light and matter leads to the spontaneous formation of hybrid light–matter states, having different energies than the uncoupled states.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
