Evaluation of excretory-secretory antigens for the serodiagnosis of swine trichinellosis

Veterinary Parasitology, 1988
Groups of hog sera from endemic and non-endemic areas for swine trichinellosis in Yugoslavia were tested by ELISA using excretory-secretory (ES) antigens collected from T. spiralis muscle larvae maintained in vitro for 24, 48 or 72 h. The 24-h ES had the highest level of specificity for T. spiralis infection.

Excretory‐secretory antigens from adult Nematospiroides dubius

Immunology & Cell Biology, 1989
SummaryAdult Nematospiroides dubius excretory‐secretory (ES) products were collected from worms cultured in vitro, radiolabelled and separated by sodium dodecyl polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS‐PAGE). The components were characterized and assessed for molecular weight (MW) after autoradiography and gel staining, for antigenicity in immunoblots ...

Demonstration of antigenic similarities and variations in excretory/secretory antigens of Toxoplasma gondii

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1992
C57BL/6 mice were orally infected with different doses of cysts of ME49 strain of Toxoplasma gondii to produce groups of acutely and chronically infected mice. Sera were obtained at different periods post-infection. SDS-PAGE was ran with excretory/secretory antigens of ME49 and RH strains of T.

Immunomodulatory effects of Trichinella spiralis-derived excretory–secretory antigens

Immunologic Research, 2015
Helminth-derived products, either released into the circulation during the course of the infection or isolated after in vitro cultivation of the parasite and applied by the injection, are able to suppress the host immune response to autoantigens and allergens, but mechanisms could differ.

Immunodiagnosis of human Anisakiasis by use of larval excretory-secretory antigen

Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, Mikrobiologie und Hygiene. Series A: Medical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Virology, Parasitology, 1989
L3 larvae of Anisakis simplex, isolated from freshly caught herrings were cultured in Medium 199 at different temperatures to obtain excretory-secretory (ES) antigen. Larvae have been cultured in vitro for a period of 11 months. A crude extract of A.

Use of excretory/secretory antigens for the serodiagnosis of Anoplocephala perfoliata cestodosis

Veterinary Parasitology, 1996
Whole worm extract (WWE) and excretory/secretory (E/S) antigens of Anoplocephala perfoliata were characterised by SDS-PAGE and their use in the serodiagnosis of equine cestodosis was evaluated. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to compare WWE and E/S antigen as the capture layer in an antibody capture ELISA.

Identification of Th1-responsive leishmanial excretory–secretory antigens (LESAs)

Experimental Parasitology, 2012
The objective of this study was to evaluate the immunomodulatory role of leishmanial excretory-secretory antigens (LESAs) released by in vitro cultured protozoan parasite Leishmania donovani promastigotes. A total of seventeen excretory-secretory proteins of relative molecular weights 11, 13, 16, 18, 21, 23, 26, 29, 33, 35, 42, 51, 54, 58, 64, 70 and ...

Evaluation of Immunodiagnostic Antigens in the Excretory-Secretory Products of Fasciola hepatica

The Journal of Parasitology, 1988
The metabolic antigens of F. hepatica have been shown to be a source of potential immunodiagnostic antigens. We have fractionated F. hepatica excretory-secretory (ES) antigens by conventional gel filtration and HPLC, analyzed these fractions in PAGE, and evaluated their immunogenicity by ELISA with sera from experimentally infected rabbits to identify ...

Isolation and partial characterization of excretory/secretory antigens of Gastrothylax crumenifer

Veterinary Parasitology, 2011
The present study was carried out to identify the excretory/secretory (E/S) antigens of the rumen infecting digenetic trematode Gastrothylax crumenifer that may be useful for the immunodiagnosis of rumen amphistomosis particularly during the pre-monsoon season during which this rumen parasite stops shedding eggs. The in vitro released E/S proteins were

Immunodiagnosis of human trichinellosis using excretory-secretory (ES) antigen

Journal of Helminthology, 1992
ABSTRACTInfective first stage larvae ofTrichinella spiraliswere recovered from muscles of laboratory infected mice by digesting the muscles with 1% HC1–1% pepsin and collecting the larvae by modified Baerman's method. The larvae were cultivated in a serum-free medium for 18 h. The ES antigen obtained from the culture medium was used in an enzyme-linked
