Exocytosis and Endocytosis: Yin-Yang Crosstalk for Sculpting a Dynamic Growing Pollen Tube Tip
The growing pollen tube has become one of the most fascinating model cell systems for investigations into cell polarity and polar cell growth in plants.

Unraveling Lysosomal Exocytosis: From Molecular Mechanisms to Physiological Functions. [PDF]
Lysosomal exocytosis is propelled by specific molecular mechanisms that direct its microtubule‐dependent transport and subsequent fusion with the plasma membrane. This process fulfills essential physiological functions such as plasma membrane repair, maintenance of cellular homeostasis, and participation in signal transduction.

Uptake of Ca2+ by isolated secretory vesicles from adrenal medulla [PDF]
Intact secretory vesicles isolated from bovine adrenal medulla contain 94 nmol Na+ per mg of protein, and Ca2+ influx into the vesicles is inhibited by increasing concentrations of extravesicular Na+ (but not of K+, Li+ or choline+) or by addition of the

Structural and Functional Characterization of EXPO‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles in Plants
In this study, 3D electron tomography (ET), cryo‐ET, and immunogold transmission electron microscopy (TEM) are employed to characterize plant extracellular vesicles (EVs) under physiological conditions. EVs are classified into three distinct categories according to their size, content, and molecular‐marker profiles. Furthermore, Exo70E2‐positive medium

A Novel Anti-Inflammatory Effect for High Density Lipoprotein.
High density lipoprotein has anti-inflammatory effects in addition to mediating reverse cholesterol transport. While many of the chronic anti-inflammatory effects of high density lipoprotein (HDL) are attributed to changes in cell adhesion molecules ...

A cell-based assay for CD63-containing extracellular vesicles [PDF]
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are thought to be important in cell-cell communication and have elicited extraordinary interest as potential biomarkers of disease. However, quantitative methods to enable elucidation of mechanisms underlying release are few.

Modifying Glucose Metabolism Reverses Memory Defects of Alzheimer's Disease Model at Late Stages
Using spatial transcriptomics, we show that ferul enanthate (SL‐ZF‐01) reverses episodic‐like memory deficits in aged, but not young, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) mice. SL restores glucose metabolism and Glucose Transporter 1/3 expression via an ‘Aging‐AD‐Rescue’ pattern, rescuing deficits seen in aged AD mice.

Differential sensitivity of brainstem vs cortical astrocytes to changes in pH reveals functional regional specialization of astroglia [PDF]
Astrocytes might function as brain interoceptors capable of detecting different (chemo)sensory modalities and transmitting sensory information to the relevant neural networks controlling vital functions.
