A Study of Exoskeleton Walking Aids Device

2017 International Conference on Industrial Informatics - Computing Technology, Intelligent Technology, Industrial Information Integration (ICIICII), 2017
Among the disabled people, patients with lower limb disability account for a large proportion. In order to help these patients to restore walking ability, a kind of walking aids device is required which can simulate the normal gait of humans. In this paper a kind of exoskeleton device is shown which has three freedoms of hip joint, knee joint and ankle

3D Printed Wearable Exoskeleton Human-Machine Interfacing Device

2020 IEEE SENSORS, 2020
This paper presents a wearable, flexible, 3D-printed exoskeleton human-machine interfacing device with embedded sensors and actuators for real-time haptic feedback. The benefits of this system compared with other similar designs are its biaxial flexibility, its stretching capabilities and the real-time vibrotactile interface, linking a sensorised ...

Design of a Hand Exoskeleton Rehabilitation Device

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
As stroke is one of the most morbidity disease, some rehabilitation devices has been developed to solve the problem, but there isn’t maturation in hand. This paper presents a new hand exoskeleton rehabilitation device to improve the result of rehabilitation and help doctors to perfect theory about hand rehabilitation. We set 8 DOF in this three fingers

Development of a Wearable Exoskeleton Haptic Interface Device

Journal of Computing and Information Science in Engineering, 2008
We developed a wearable exoskeleton haptic interface to fit the human body. We generated a force constituting a contrasting moment by pulling a wire using a dc motor. We also developed a control system, which included a motor controller, an interface, and a control software.

Goniometric Sensor Interface for Exoskeleton System Control Device

Biomedical Engineering, 2016
The results of development of a monitoring system for a medical exoskeleton are presented. A subsystem of sensors consisting of a MEMS sensor and a group of magnetic inclinometers is described. The problem of the interface between the sensor subsystem and the exoskeleton control system is discussed.

Performance measures of teleoperation using an exoskeleton device

Proceedings., IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002
A study was conducted to evaluate performance of a man-machine interface system consisting of a human wearing a passive exoskeleton device. This experiment obtained some crude measures of human response characteristics treating the exoskeleton device as a complicated sensor array. A Fitt's law paradigm was used to help evaluate human performance.

Navigating the FDA Medical Device Regulatory Pathways for Pediatric Lower Limb Exoskeleton Devices

IEEE Systems Journal, 2021
There have been significant advances in the technologies for robot-assisted lower limb rehabilitation in the past decade. However, the development of similar systems for children has been slow despite the fact that children with conditions, such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and spinal cord injury (SCI), can benefit greatly from these technologies ...

Sensing User Input on a Human Exoskeleton Device

Volume 3: Industrial Applications; Modeling for Oil and Gas, Control and Validation, Estimation, and Control of Automotive Systems; Multi-Agent and Networked Systems; Control System Design; Physical Human-Robot Interaction; Rehabilitation Robotics; Sensing and Actuation for Control; Biomedical Systems; Time Delay Systems and Stability; Unmanned Ground and Surface Robotics; Vehicle Motion Controls; Vibration Analysis and Isolation; Vibration and Control for Energy Harvesting; Wind Energy, 2014
To practically help those with limited mobility disorders, human exoskeletons need to be intelligent devices that not only guide the pilot along a particular gait but do so in a manner that is comfortable to the pilot and sensitive to pilot intent. This paper proposes sensing the user’s intent and then weighing gait tracking with amplifying the user’s ...
