Exosomes and exosome composite scaffolds in periodontal tissue engineering

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
Promoting complete periodontal regeneration of damaged periodontal tissues, including dental cementum, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone, is one of the challenges in the treatment of periodontitis. Therefore, it is urgent to explore new treatment strategies for periodontitis.

Exosomes and chronic rhinosinusitis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 2018
The objective of this manuscripts to review current knowledge regarding exosomes as they relate to the physiology and pathology of the human nose as well as their role as biomarkers of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP).Exosomes are 30–150 nm membrane‐bound vesicles secreted by virtually all cell types.

piR‐RCC Suppresses Renal Cell Carcinoma Progression by Facilitating YBX‐1 Cytoplasm Localization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PIWI‐interacting RNAs (piRNAs), a novel category of small non‐coding RNAs, have been implicated in the development of various diseases. This study explores the tumor‐suppressive mechanism of a downregulated piRNA (designated piR‐RCC) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and provides a delivery strategy targeting RCC tumor by constructing a cell membrane ...

Dynein‐Dependent Endo‐Lysosomal Degradation Drives Lewy Body Disorders Accompanied by Aβ Pathology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the impact of Aβ plaques on α‐synuclein (αSyn) pathologies in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). Co‐culturing primary neurons with AD mouse brain slices reveals impaired dynein‐dependent organelle trafficking, affecting αSyn degradation. Activating Rab7 restores this process, reducing αSyn inclusions.

CircTP53/USP10/p53 signaling Axis as a Novel Regulator of Progression and Prognosis of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study identifies a novel circular RNA derived from the TP53 gene (circTP53), which is upregulated in HNSCC and correlates with poor patient prognosis. It demonstrates that circTP53 promotes HNSCC progression by interacting with USP10, stabilizing both proteins, enhancing deubiquitination of p53, and thereby influencing tumor growth, with its ...

Engineered Foxp1high Exosomes Ameliorates Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a dual‐engineering strategy combining mesenchymal stem cell aggregation and Foxp1 overexpression to generate Foxp1high aggregation exosomes with enhanced immunomodulatory properties. These engineered exosomes exhibit immune organ targeting and superior efficacy in systemic lupus erythematosus treatment by promoting Treg ...
