Proteoglycans and Hyaluronan in Normal and Aberrant Lung Development

open access: yesProteoglycan Research, Volume 3, Issue 2, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Lung development is a tightly regulated process that progresses through five distinct stages: embryonic, pseudoglandular, canalicular, saccular, and alveolar. Each stage is characterized by coordinated cellular interactions and structural changes driven by signals from epithelial, endothelial, and mesenchymal cells.

STING‐dependent induction of neutrophilic asthma exacerbation in response to house dust mite

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 80, Issue 3, Page 715-737, March 2025.
This study investigates whether STING‐induced neutrophilic lung inflammation mimics severe asthma. STING activation during allergic challenge triggers neutrophilic asthma accompanied by a Th1 and pro‐inflammatory cytokine in addition to the Th2 cytokines resulting in an epithelial barrier damage, cell death and self‐dsDNA release with increased mucus ...

BN 52021 (a platelet activating factor-receptor antagonist) decreases alveolar macrophage-mediated lung injury in experimental extrinsic allergic alveolitis

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 1998
Several lines of research indirectly suggest that platelet activating factor (PAF) may intervene in the pathogenesis of extrinsic allergic alveolitis (EAA).

Respiratory Ill‐Health and Welding Exposures: A Canadian Cohort Study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Industrial Medicine, Volume 68, Issue 2, Page 99-111, February 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Respiratory ill‐health in welders is well documented but without a clear indication of exposures responsible. Methods In a Canadian cohort study of welders and electrical workers, we collected self‐reports of asthma/wheeze and rhinitis at each 6‐monthly contact for up to 5 years.

Innate T‐cell‐derived IL‐17A/F protects from bleomycin‐induced acute lung injury but not bleomycin or adenoviral TGF‐β1‐induced lung fibrosis in mice

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 54, Issue 12, December 2024.
Bleomycin‐induced acute lung injury but not fibrosis is regulated in WT mice by the presence of radioresistant innate IL‐17A/F‐producing T cells and is exacerbated in IL17af−/− mice. Recombinant IL‐17A/F therapy but not WT bone marrow transplantation ameliorates bleomycin induced acute lung injury in IL17af−/− mice.

The tiotriasolinantioxidant action upon content of peroxide lipid oxidation products, and antioxidant system ferments activity in guinea-pigs’ pulmonary tissue under conditions of allergic experimental alveolitis development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
У роботі вивчено коригуючий вплив антиоксиданта тіотріазоліну на вміст у легеневій тканині тварин дієнових кон’югатів, малонового діальдегіду, супероксиддисмутази і каталази при експериментальному алергічному альвеоліті.The work presents the ...

Peculiarities of changes in a functional condition of pro-oxidant and antioxidant systems in guinea pigs’ lungs in experimental allergic alveolitis under the conditions of immobilization stress

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport
We have analyzed the results of investigation of alterations in indices of pro-oxidant (conjugated diene and malondialdehyde) and antioxidant (superoxide dismutase, ceruloplasmin, catalase) systems in guinea pigs’ lungs in experimental allergic ...

Peculiarities of changes prooxidant-antioxidant processes in lungs in conditions of experimental allergic alveolitis and their correction with thiotriazolin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015

The Endogenous Th17 Response in NO2-Promoted Allergic Airway Disease Is Dispensable for Airway Hyperresponsiveness and Distinct from Th17 Adoptive Transfer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Severe, glucocorticoid-resistant asthma comprises 5-7% of patients with asthma. IL-17 is a biomarker of severe asthma, and the adoptive transfer of Th17 cells in mice is sufficient to induce glucocorticoid-resistant allergic airway disease.
