In this animal the entire orbital contents, with the exception of the lacrimal gland, are enclosed in a conical fascial sheath. The base of the cone surrounds the orbital margins in front and its apex is attached to the foramina at the posterior of the orbit.

Spine, 1991The hypothesis for the mechanism of production of scoliosis, advanced on the basis of morphometric and morphologic studies in human thoracic skeleton, finds further support in the results of an experimental study in rabbits described herein. The removal of transverse processes alone resulted in the production of scoliosis and lordosis.
