This entry explores the differences between tacit and explicit knowledge. Tacit knowledge is defined as a form of knowing that cannot be expressed. Organizational theory has been particular concerned with tacit knowledge as a part of an effort to identify and utilize the unique knowledge that is distinctive to successful organizations.
