Estimation Methods of Theree Parameters Discrete Generalized Exponential [PDF]

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Commerce and Social Sciences, 2010
This article presents the estimation methods of three parameters Discrete Generalized Exponential distribution. The two-parameter generalized exponential distribution was introduced by Gupta and Kundu (1999).

Low Rank Matrix Completion with Exponential Family Noise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The matrix completion problem consists in reconstructing a matrix from a sample of entries, possibly observed with noise. A popular class of estimator, known as nuclear norm penalized estimators, are based on minimizing the sum of a data fitting term and

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

A Note on Exponential Sums

open access: yesFinite Fields and Their Applications, 1995
This paper along with \textit{J. Angel} [Finite Fields Appl. 2, 62-86 (1996; see the preceding review)] and \textit{R. Evans} [Finite Fields Appl. 1, 376-394 (1995; Zbl 0844.11078)] proves that finite upper half plane graphs are Ramanujan in characteristic 2. Ramanujan graphs were first defined by \textit{A. Lubotzky}, \textit{R.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Generalized Sum-Asymmetry Model and Orthogonality of Test Statistic for Square Contingency Tables

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics
For analyzing contingency tables, we are usually interested in whether or not the independence model holds. On the other hand, for the analysis of square contingency tables, we are usually interested in whether or not the model having the structure of ...

Randomly stopped sums with exponential-type distributions

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2017
Assume that {ξ1, ξ2, …} are independent and possibly nonidentically distributed random variables. Suppose that η is a nonnegative, nondegenerate at zero and integer-valued random variable, which is independent of {ξ1, ξ2, …}.

Evaluating Binomial Character Sums Modulo Powers of Two [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We show that for any mod $2^m$ characters, $\chi_1, \chi_2,$ the complete exponential sum, $$ \sum_{x=1}^{2^m}\chi_1(x) \chi_2(Ax^k+B), $$ has a simple explicit ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

A double exponential potential for van der Waals interaction

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Van der Waals (vdw) interaction is an important force between atoms and molecules. Many potential functions have been proposed to model vdw interaction such as the Lennard-Jones (L-J) potential.
