An exact renormalization formula for Gaussian exponential sums and applications
In the present paper, we derive a renormalization formula "\`a la Hardy-Littlewood" for the Gaussian exponential sums with an exact formula for the remainder term.

Exponential Sums and Lattice Points [PDF]
The area A inside a simple closed curve C can be estimated graphically by drawing a square lattice of sides 1/M. The number of lattice points inside C is approximately \(AM^ 2\). If C has continuous nonzero radius of curvature, the number of lattice points is accurate to order of magnitude at most \(M^{\alpha}\) for any \(\alpha >2/3\). We show that if

Analysis of Treacher Collins syndrome 4‐associated mutations in Schizosaccharomyces pombe
Fission yeast models carrying Treacher Collins syndrome type 4‐associated mutations reveal that impaired processivity of RNA polymerase I leads to defective rRNA transcription. This study highlights the essential role of a conserved arginine residue in Pol I elongation and provides mechanistic insight into the pathogenesis of ribosomopathies.

KHS‐Cnd peptide is able to impair biofilm formation and disaggregate mature biofilms in Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Differences in extracellular metabolites reflect changes in biofilm metabolism due to KHS‐Cnd treatment. Among the differentially represented extracellular metabolites upon KHS‐Cnd treatment, the significantly altered ...

Mordell’s exponential sum estimate revisited [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to extend recent work of S. Konyagin and the author on Gauss sum estimates for large degree to the case of ‘sparse’ polynomials. In this context we do obtain a nearly optimal result, improving on the works of Mordell and of Cochrane and Pinner.

On the generalized exponential sums and their fourth power mean
The main purpose of this article is to study the calculating problem of the fourth power mean of the two-term exponential sums and provide an accurate calculating formula for utilizing analytical methods and character sums’ properties. In the meantime, a

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.
