Divergent Wnt8a Gene Expression in Teleosts
The analysis of genes in evolutionarily distant but morphologically similar species is of major importance to unravel the changes in genomes over millions of years, which led to gene silencing and functional diversification. We report the analysis of Wnt8a gene expression in the medakafish and provide a detailed comparison to other vertebrates.

External factors accelerate expression divergence between duplicate genes [PDF]
We examined the evolution of expression of duplicate genes in Arabidopsis thaliana, by analyzing 512 data sets of gene expression microarrays and 2022 recent duplicate gene pairs. Expression divergence between gene duplicates is significantly greater in response to environmental stress than to developmental processes.

Isotype-specific plasma cells express divergent transcriptional programs
Antibodies are produced across multiple isotypes with distinct properties that coordinate initial antigen clearance and confer long-term antigen-specific immune protection. Here, we interrogate the molecular programs of isotype-specific murine plasma cells (PC) following helper T cell-dependent immunization and within established ...

Divergent dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase isoenzyme expression in the central nervous system [PDF]
Abstract The endogenous methylated derivative of L-arginine, NG-NG-dimethyl-ʟ-arginine (asymmetric dimethylarginine, ADMA), an independent risk factor in many diseases, inhibits the activity of nitric oxide synthases and, consequently, modulates the availability of nitric oxide.

Genome-Wide Analysis of WRKY Genes and Their Response to Hormone and Mechanic Stresses in Carrot
The WRKY gene family plays a vital role in plant development and environment response. Although previous studies suggested that the WRKY genes in carrot (Kuroda type) involved in biotic and abiotic stress responses, the information of WRKY genes in the ...

When gene regulatory networks diverge between species, their dysfunctional expression in inter-species hybrid individuals can create genetic incompatibilities that generate the developmental defects responsible for intrinsic post-zygotic reproductive ...

A discussion on leading renormalon in the pole mass [PDF]
Perturbative series of some quantities in quantum field theories, such as the pole mass of a quark, suffer from a kind of divergence called renormalon divergence.

Divergence of the yeast transcription factor FZF1 affects sulfite resistance. [PDF]
Changes in gene expression are commonly observed during evolution. However, the phenotypic consequences of expression divergence are frequently unknown and difficult to measure.

Temporal expression divergence of network modules [PDF]
AbstractHere we propose new module-based approaches to identify differentially regulated network sub-modules combining temporal trajectories of expression profiles with static network skeletons. Starting from modules identified by network clustering of static networks, our analysis refines pre-defined genesets by partitioning them into smaller ...
