Genetic susceptibility loci for cardiovascular disease and their impact on atherosclerotic plaques [PDF]
Background: Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease in part caused by lipid uptake in the vascular wall, but the exact underlying mechanisms leading to acute myocardial infarction and stroke remain poorly understood. Large consortia identified

Genome-wide association studies have identified many loci for brain disorders, but most non-coding variants fail to colocalize with bulk expression quantitative trait loci. Single-cell expression quantitative trait loci studies capture cell-type-specific

Liver expression quantitative trait loci: a foundation for pharmacogenomic research
Expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) analysis can provide insights into the genetic regulation of gene expression at a genomic level and this information is proving extremely useful in many different areas of research.

Genome‐Wide by Lifetime Environment Interaction Studies of Brain Imaging Phenotypes
This study explores genome‐wide by lifetime environment interactions on brain imaging phenotypes. Gene‐environment interactions explain more phenotypic variance than main effects, pinpoint regulatory variants, and reveal exposure‐specific biological pathways.

A Common Variant in CLDN14 is Associated with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and Bone Mineral Density. [PDF]
Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), a chronic autoimmune liver disease, has been associated with increased incidence of osteoporosis. Intriguingly, two PBC susceptibility loci identified through genome-wide association studies are also involved in bone ...

Integrative Bioinformatics Approaches for Identification of Drug Targets in Hypertension
High blood pressure or hypertension is an established risk factor for a myriad of cardiovascular diseases. Genome-wide association studies have successfully found over nine hundred loci that contribute to blood pressure.

Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.
