Sequential Structural Evolution Triggered by O─O Dimerization in Oxygen‐Redox Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study reveals the origin of electrode degradation in oxygen‐redox reactions as sequential structural evolution. Contrary to the widely accepted belief, transition‐metal migration is not induced before the dimerization of unstable oxidized oxide ions in the deeply charged states.

Elucidating the Impact of Functional Additives on the Structure and Ion Dynamics of Hybrid Solid Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Using multinuclear and multiscale solid‐state NMR, the bulk and interfacial structures of a LiI‐integrated PEO‐LiTFSI‐Li6PS5Cl hybrid solid electrolytes are elucidated, revealing LiI's dual role in enhancing bulk Li‐ion mobility and facilitating Li‐ion diffusion across the organic/inorganic interfaces.

Spongy Silicon‐Doped MoS2 via Long‐Chain Molecule Induction and Mesopore Confinement for Ultra‐Stable Lithium‐Ion Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Spongy silicon‐doped MoS2 is synthesized via long‐chain molecule induction and mesopore confinement. Such a nanostructure enables highly reversible Li⁺ diffusion along the edges, distinct from the Li+ storage within the interlayers of conventional MoS2 anodes.
