Modeling and Analysis of External Gear Pump Broken Tooth Failure Mechanism

2023 International Conference on Sensing, Measurement & Data Analytics in the era of Artificial Intelligence (ICSMD), 2023
The gear pump is not only the power source of the fuel control system, but also a component that is prone to malfunctions. Therefore, Fault mechanism modeling is of great significance to gear pump fault monitoring and product structure optimization.

The Optimal Design in External Gear Pumps and Motors

IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, 2011
To improve the system performance of hydraulically assisted mechatronic systems, the research investigates the instantaneous pressure of the meshing action in the external gear pumps and motors. The undesired large pressure overshoots or spikes could be excited by virtue of the sudden volumetric change of meshing pockets.

Optimization of the design of an external gear pump casing and efficiency through structural finite element analysis and using response surface methodology

Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences (Asian Research Publishing Network)
In this study, we present an improvement in the external gear pump casing by reducing its weight, aiming to minimize the material used in manufacturing while maintaining casing stiffness and increasing the efficiency to mass ratio.

The Flow Pulsation Analysis of an External Gear Pump

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
In this paper, the theoretical flow ripple of an external gear pump is studied for pumps of similar size using different numbers of teeth on the driving and driven gears. External gear pumps with three different types of tooth profiles are studied. Nondimensional flowrates and fluctuation coefficients of gear pumps are discussed.

Vibration and dynamic loads in external gear pumps

Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, 2015
This paper presents the model for simulation of vibration and dynamic loads in external gear pumps. The calculation has been carried out in Matlab/Simulink program. The vibrations of gears are excited due to the variable pressure forces and variable stiffness of the gearing.

The Theoretical Flow Ripple of an External Gear Pump

Fluid Power Systems and Technology, 2002
In this paper, the theoretical flow ripple of an external gear pump is studied for pumps of similar size using different numbers of teeth on the driving and driven gears. In this work, the flow ripple equation is derived based upon the flow of incompressible fluid across the changing boundaries of a control volume.

The research of contaminant abrasion on external gear pump

2009 Chinese Control and Decision Conference, 2009
Leakage brings out contamination inevitably and contaminant abrasion leads to the increase of internal leakage, the decline of volumetric efficiency, and the service life. The influential factors were found by experiment in the paper. On the basis of the experiment of gear pump contaminant abrasion sensibility, we discuss the interaction between ...
