In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

The readiness–preparedness bias: recalibrating monitoring logic
This perspective argues that readiness monitoring metrics may be given disproportionate decision-weight relative to sport-specific preparedness indicators when daily load choices are made for athletes whose chronic physical capacity remains below the ...

Reliability of a novel neck external loading dynamometer
Cervistab is an electro-pneumatic device that produces flexion push-loading events in an ecological rugby position (i.e. similar to on-pitch position) to assess neck extensors muscle response to a flexion perturbation. This response is important for preventing head/neck injuries in Rugby, however there is a clear lack of validated devices in the ...

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...
