ABSTRACT Features considered indicative of hyperpycnites and intrabasinal turbidites overlap. Outcrop study presented here suggests that the Westward Ho! Formation forms an 800 m high deepwater‐slope system dominated by hyperpycnites. Taking this unit, and other successions where hyperpycnites have been described, as having been deposited solely from ...

The coal resources in Xinjiang are shallowly buried, the coal seam is thick, resulting in poor top coal caving and drawing. And the roof is overhanging in a large area, which makes it impossible to achieve safe and efficient top coal mining.

Top-coal initial caving law of continuous group caving method in extra-thick coal seams
In order to clarify the law of top coal caving with continuous group caving method in extra-thick coal seams, this study investigated the influences of the caving openings width on the morphological characteristics of caving body, the evolution law of the boundary of top coal and their spatial relationship based on the discrete element numerical ...

Water‐Stable Paper‐Based Laser‐Induced Graphene With Asymmetric Water Adhesion and Wettability
Paper‐based electronics are attractive for sustainable and disposable devices, but often fail in wet environments. By introducing Parafilm into cellulose paper combined with laser conversion, two graphene surfaces with different water interactions are created.

Pore Size and Wettability Control Dissolution Trapping Regimes of CO2 in Nano Porous Media
Abstract We simulate supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2 ${\text{scCO}}_{2}$) dissolution in water in nano/submicron pore‐throats (14.3–21.5 nm) using a multi‐component, multiphase pseudopotential lattice Boltzmann model closed by a Peng–Robinson equation of state.

A versatile approach is presented for fabricating smart multifunctional textiles by integrating thermo‐fluorescent carbon dot/polymer nanocomposite coatings with 3D‐printed interlocked architectures. The fabrics exhibit temperature‐responsive fluorescence, durable hydrophobicity, strong antibacterial and antioxidant activity, and enhanced UV protection.

The mining of thick coal seam is different from the mining of general thick coal seam. The thickness of the first mining is increased, which makes the space of overlying strata rotary movement increase, and it is easy to induce more intense mine pressure.

On the basis of core and log data, a Bayesian‐Optimized Random Forest model achieved 92.76% accuracy in classifying tight sandstone reservoirs. A gray relational analysis‐derived evaluation index shows > 80% consistency with actual gas zones. ABSTRACT Tight sandstone gas (TSG), an unconventional oil–gas resource, has heterogeneous reservoirs ...
