Stability Evaluation and Parametric Optimization of Coal‐Concrete Composite Bearing Systems Under Mine‐Water‐Induced Deterioration: Experiments and FEINN Analysis

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Mine‐water immersion tests reveal pronounced coal weakening (vs. minor concrete degradation), identifying coal pillars as the stability‐limiting component in composite dams. A coupled FEINN framework quantifies extreme‐pressure stability and ranks multi‐parameter designs via a normalized multi‐indicator scheme, enabling optimized dam configuration for ...

Iron Energy Carrier: Experimental Characterisation, Combustion Diagnostic and Benchmarking with Other Clean Metal Fuels

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigates how iron particles burn across a wide size range, revealing late‐stage nanoparticle release and a previously unrecognised shift in combustion behaviour near 118 µm. High‐speed imaging, PMT diagnostics and SEM analyses have been conducted.

Research on instability characteristics and control technology of the mining roadway below the remaining coal pillars in the goaf

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2022
When the extra thick coal seam is mined in the goaf, the remaining coal pillar of upper coal seam and adjacent working face will have an important impact on the stability of mining roadway.

Mechanisms of Roadway Instability and Coupled Control Technology for Working Face Passing Through Fault Zones

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study mainly explores the instability characteristics of roadways near faults in the working face. Taking the 51104 transportation roadway of the 51104 working face in Shengxin Coal Mine as the main research object, through theoretical analysis, borehole inspection, numerical simulation and on‐site mine pressure observation, the instability ...

Structural and Rheological Properties of Chitosan‐Biochar Composites Prepared With Waste Biomass‐Derived Biochar

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Chitosan dispersions containing biochar derived from vine pruning residue showed increasing shear stress and improved thermal stability with loading. Flow behavior was described by the Bingham plastic model in all cases. These results support the valorization of agricultural waste in functional biopolymer formulations.

Behaviors of overlying strata in extra-thick coal seams using top-coal caving method

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2016
AbstractAccidents such as support failure and excessive deformation of roadways due to drastic changes in strata behaviors are frequently reported when mining the extra-thick coal seams Nos. 3–5 in Datong coal mine with top-coal caving method, which significantly hampers the mine's normal production.

Disasters of gas-coal spontaneous combustion in goaf of steeply inclined extra-thick coal seams

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
In light of the escalating global energy imperatives, mining of challenging-to-access resources, such as steeply inclined extra-thick coal seams (SIEC), has emerged as one of the future trends within the domain of energy advancement. However, there is a risk of gas and coal spontaneous combustion coupling disasters (GCC) within the goaf of SIEC due to ...
