Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Optimizing the process of supercritical extraction of lemon balm (Melissa Officinalis L.) [PDF]
This work investigates the process of extraction of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) by treatment with carbon dioxide at supercritical conditions. The process kinetics is studied at different operational conditions, and the influence of some important

Ultrasound increases the aqueous extraction of phenolic compounds with high antioxidant activity from olive pomace [PDF]
Olive pomace is a waste produced by the olive oil industry in massive quantities each year. Disposal of olive pomace is difficult due to high concentrations of phenolic compounds, which is an environmental concern.

Optimization of extraction parameters on the antioxidant properties of banana waste.
BACKGROUND Banana is grown worldwide and consumed as ripe fruit or used for culinary purposes. Peels form about 18-33% of the whole fruit and are discarded as a waste product.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Extraction of alignment parameters from circular dichroic photoelectron angular distribution (CDAD) measurements [PDF]
In a previous paper, we showed that circular dichroism in photoelectron angular distributions (CDAD) can be used to probe alignment in gas phase atoms and linear molecules. Often this alignment is parametrized through the moments of alignment A(2), A(4),
