The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Development of a high-density lead acetate-monoethylene glycol completion fluid for HPHT reservoirs
Well completion fluids are vital for hydrocarbon extraction and well integrity, particularly in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) reservoirs. Conventional calcium bromide brines, though dense, face economic and logistical challenges in Iran due to ...

Designing mobile experiences for collocated interaction [PDF]
Many of our everyday social interactions involve mobile devices. Yet, these tend to only provide good support for distributed social interactions. Although much HCI and CSCW research has explored how we might support collocated, face-to-face situations ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Correction: F-Formation Detection: Individuating Free-Standing Conversational Groups in Images
There is an error in the first sentence of the Evaluation Metrics subsection of the Experiments section. The correct sentence is: As accuracy measures, we adopt the metrics proposed in [3] and extended in [12]: we consider a group as correctly estimated if at least ⌈(T ⋅ ∣G∣)⌉ of their members are found by the grouping method and correctly detected by ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Track initialisation for multiple formations based on neutrosophic Hough transform
Track crossing is a major issue in the initialisation of multiple‐flight trajectories. To solve this problem, the authors propose a track initialisation algorithm.
