We approach the Minimum Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) from an E_6 GUT by using the spectral cover construction and non-abelian gauge fluxes in F-theory. We start with an E_6 singularity unfolded from an E_8 singularity and obtain E_6 GUTs by using

Phenomenological Aspects of F-theory [PDF]
Stabilizing a heterotic string vacuum with a large expectation value of the dilaton and simultaneously breaking low-energy supersymmetry is a long-standing problem of string phenomenology. We reconsider these issues in light of the recent developments in

F-theory vacua and α′-corrections [PDF]
In this work we analyze F-theory and Type IIB orientifold compactifications to study α′-corrections to the four-dimensional, N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 effective actions.

Model Building with F-Theory [PDF]
Despite much recent progress in model building with D-branes, it has been problematic to find a completely convincing explanation of gauge coupling unification.

Phases of 5d SCFTs from M-/F-theory on non-flat fibrations [PDF]
A bstractWe initiate the systematic investigation of non-flat resolutions of non-minimal singularities in elliptically fibered Calabi-Yau threefolds. Compactification of M-theory on these geometries provides an alternative approach to studying phases of ...

Classification of Spot-Welded Joints in Laser Thermography Data Using Convolutional Neural Networks
Spot welding is a crucial process step in various industries. However, classification of spot welding quality is still a tedious process due to the complexity and sensitivity of the test material, which drain conventional approaches to its limits.

The global gauge group structure of F-theory compactification with U(1)s [PDF]
We show that F-theory compactifications with abelian gauge factors generally exhibit a non-trivial global gauge group structure. The geometric origin of this structure lies with the Shioda map of the Mordell-Weil generators.
