Si‐doped AlCoCrFeNi high‐entropy alloys are synthesized by mechanical alloying to reveal the effect of Si content and milling time on phase evolution, microstructural refinement, and tribological behavior. A transition from FCC to BCC structure, significant grain refinement, and enhanced hardness and wear resistance are achieved, with the 4 at% Si ...

A milling cutter with spherical rake face.
This paper describes the cutting performance and cutting mechanism of a new milling cutter. This milling cutter is a face milling cutter of a throwaway type and is used for the rough machining of a molding die. That is to say, it can cut in horizontal feed and in vertical feed and consequently in a falling gradient direction.

Ultrasonic-Assisted Face Milling for Fabricating Hierarchical Microstructures
Surface microstructures can provide various functionalities, and wettability is a typical surface property that can be controlled by the surface textures. This study attempted to fabricate hierarchical microstructures through ultrasonic-assisted face milling (UAFM) to change the surface functionality by specifically focusing on the wettability.

Grain boundary triple junctions are an essential ingredient of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials. In this study, a triple junction is observed using atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and characterized. Computer simulations reveal that the junction has a dislocation character that is determined by the joining ...
