This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Coordination of Mobile Mules via Facility Location Strategies
In this paper, we study the problem of wireless sensor network (WSN) maintenance using mobile entities called mules. The mules are deployed in the area of the WSN in such a way that would minimize the time it takes them to reach a failed sensor and fix ...

Strategy-Proof Facility Location for Concave Cost Functions [PDF]
We consider k-Facility Location games, where n strategic agents report their locations on the real line, and a mechanism maps them to k facilities.

Facility Location on Terrains [PDF]
Given a terrain defined as a piecewise-linear function with n triangles, and m point sites on it, we would like to identify the location on the terrain that minimizes the maximum distance to the sites. The distance is measured as the length of the Euclidean shortest path along the terrain. To simplify the problem somewhat, we extend the terrain to (the

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Optimal Location of an Oil Storage Facility
Given three oil drilling sites, we devise a method to determine the optimal location for a storage facility such that the total length of pipeline required to connect each site to the facility is minimized. First we represent the total distance of piping

Super-Fast Distributed Algorithms for Metric Facility Location [PDF]
This paper presents a distributed O(1)-approximation algorithm, with expected-$O(\log \log n)$ running time, in the $\mathcal{CONGEST}$ model for the metric facility location problem on a size-$n$ clique network.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A simulation based research on chance constrained programming in robust facility location problem
Since facility location decisions problem include long-term character and potential parameter variations, it is important to consider uncertainty in its modeling.
