Assessment of Tigris River Water Quality Using Multivariate Statistical Techniques

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2019
The present study uses the multivariate statistical techniques by applying the Factor Analysis (Principle component method) to explain the observed water quality data of Tigris river within Baghdad city. The water quality was analyzed at eleven different

Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Trends in impact factors of ophthalmology journals

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016
Purpose: To test whether there is an association between the growth in the number of ophthalmic journals in the past years and their mean and maximum impact factor (IF) as a common sign of scientific proliferation.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Connections between single-factor analysis and graphical Gaussian models

open access: yes, 2006
The classical single-factor model is parametrized as a graphical Gaussian model. The relationship between the classical parametrization of the single-factor model and this alternative parametrization is derived.

CP factor model for dynamic tensors

open access: yes
Observations in various applications are frequently represented as a time series of multidimensional arrays, called tensor time series, preserving the inherent multidimensional structure.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Flexible clustering via extended mixtures of common t-factor analyzers

open access: yes, 2018
Mixtures of t-factor analyzers have been broadly used for model-based density estimation and clustering of high-dimensional data from a heterogeneous population with longer-than-normal tails or atypical observations. To reduce the number of parameters in

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
