On multidimensional solutions in the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet model with a cosmological term
A D-dimensional gravitational model with Gauss-Bonnet and cosmological term is considered. When ansatz with diagonal cosmological metrics is adopted, we overview recent solutions for zero cosmological term and find new examples of solutions for non-zero ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Cosmological milestones and energy conditions
Until recently, the physically relevant singularities occurring in FRW cosmologies had traditionally been thought to be limited to the "big bang", and possibly a "big crunch".

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Protease: Serpin complexes to assess contact system and intrinsic pathway activation
Mounting evidence suggests that a variety of disease states are pathophysiologically related to activation of the contact system in vivo. The plasma contact system is composed of a cascade of serine proteases initiated by surface activation of factor XII,

Although divalent zinc (Zn2+) is known to bind factor (F)XII and affect its sensitivity to autoactivation, little is known about the role of Zn2+ in the binding of FXII to platelets, where FXII activation is thought to occur in vivo, and the function of ...
