Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Presence and localization of a 30-kDa basic fibroblast growth factor-like protein in rodent testes [PDF]
We have used a recently characterized rabbit antiserum against basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), which recognizes various forms of bFGF, to examine the presence and localization of bFGF in the testes of adult rats and mice and the 5-day-old rat.

Quark beta decay in an inhomogeneous chiral phase and cooling of hybrid stars
We discuss the cooling of hybrid stars by considering the neutrino emission from quark matter. As a current topic the appearance of various inhomogeneous chiral phases have been studied near the chiral transition. Here we consider the dual-chiral-density-

Predicting Loss of Ambulation in Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy R9
ABSTRACT Background Limb girdle muscular dystrophy type R9 (LGMDR9) results from biallelic variants in FKRP. There is limited data to predict loss of ambulation (LOA) among those with LGMDR9. Methods Participants in an ongoing dystroglycanopathy natural history study (NCT00313677) with FKRP variants who had achieved ambulation and were more than 3 ...
