Antihemophilic Factor (Factor VIII)
Annals of Internal Medicine, 1978Antihemophilic factor (Factor VIII) is an agent in normal plasma that corrects the coagulative defect of classic hemophillia. The plasma of hemophiliacs contains normal amounts of a variant of antihemophilic factor deficient in clot-promoting properties. In contrast, von Willebrand's disease is usually associated with a true deficiency of this protein.

Factor refinement (in \(\mathbb Z\)) refers to the transition from \(m=m_ 1 m_ 2\) to \(m=\prod n_ i^{e_ i}\) where the \(n_ i\) are not necessarily prime but \(\gcd(n_ i n_ j)=1\). The method is to use only the gcd algorithm starting with \(d=\gcd(m_ 1,m_ 2)\) and \(m=(m_ 1/d)d^ 2 (m_ 2/d)\). Then proceed by induction. The process is of complexity \(O(

Factor Prices, Factor Proportions, and Regional Factor Endowments
Journal of Political Economy, 1970in two-digit manufacturing industries. These tests were based on the theoretical proposition that the South, being relatively labor-abundant by comparison with the non-South, should possess a comparative advantage in producing relatively labor-intensive commodities.

ACM SIGCHI Bulletin, 1989
As the newly-appointed SIGCHI Standards Liaison, I hope to continue in the fine tradition established by Jon Meads over the past several years. As I see it, my primary task is to inform SIGCHI members about any standards activities that may affect them as designers and users of interactive software.

FACTOR INTERACTION IN NONLINEAR FACTOR ANALYSIS
British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, 1967Factor interaction models are defined as those cases in nonlinear factor analysis in which the specification equation contains products of two or more latent variables or functions of latent variables. A complete algebraic treatment is given for the case of a product of two latent variables, and certain more general cases are briefly outlined.

It has been more than 30 years since Dr. H. S. Lawrence first reported that it was possible to transfer delayed-type hypersensitivity from sensitized donors to unsensitized recipients with lysates of blood leukocytes. During recent years, research from several laboratories has demonstrated that this effect is immunologically specific.

Let \(\mathcal K\) be a category. We say that a functor \(F:\mathcal K \to\mathcal L\) preserves a class \(\mathcal E\) of \(\mathcal K\)-epimorphisms (or a class \( \mathcal M\) of \(\mathcal K\)-monomorphisms) if \(F(\mathcal E)\) (or \(F(\mathcal M)\)) is a subclass of \(\mathcal L\)-epimorphisms (or \(\mathcal L\)-monomorphisms).
