We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Linfocitos T reguladores inducibles producen factores generadores de linfocitos T reguladores in Vitro [PDF]
Hace un siglo Paul Ehrlich propuso que el sistema inmune estaba programado para evitar la generacion de respuestas autoinmunes en lo que denomino "horror autotoxicus" (Himmelweit,1956-1960).

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

AbstractBackgroundIgE‐mediated food allergy is the result of an aberrant immune response involving the interaction of a food allergen with its specific IgE bound to FcɛRI, the high affinity IgE receptor, on mast cells. Allergen‐specific IgE also binds to soluble binding factors, but, their expression and role in food allergy is not well characterized ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Digging into the Solubility Factor in Cancer Diagnosis: A Case of Soluble CD44 Protein
The detection of soluble proteins in biological fluids, as a form of liquid biopsy, is a promising tool for cancer diagnosis and prognosis, as it is less invasive than traditional diagnostic methods. CD44 is one of the most recognized markers of cancer stem cells, a small subset of cells responsible for cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis ...
