An Improved Failure Mode Effects Analysis for Hospitals

open access: yesArchives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, 2004
Abstract Objective. —To review the Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) process recommended by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations and to review alternatives. This reliability engineering tool may be unfamiliar to hospital personnel.

Tensile failure criteria for fiber composite materials [PDF]

open access: yes
The analysis provides insight into the failure mechanics of these materials and defines criteria which serve as tools for preliminary design material selection and for material reliability assessment. The model incorporates both dispersed and propagation

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Failure mode and effects analysis and sensitivity analysis for a neutral point re-injection multi-pulse voltage source converter

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy
Sensitivity Analysis plays a crucial role in the design, control, and optimization of multi-pulse Voltage Source Converters. It helps engineers assess how variations in parameters influence system performance, enabling the development of more efficient ...

Independent Orbiter Assessment (IOA): Analysis of the remote manipulator system [PDF]

open access: yes
The results of the Independent Orbiter Assessment (IOA) of the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Critical Items List (CIL) are presented. The IOA approach features a top-down analysis of the hardware to determine failure modes, criticality ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis of a Process of Reflow Lead-Free Soldering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
There are many methods usable for production process optimization. The paper describes the use of failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA of a process type) for the process of lead-free soldering improvement. The schedule of FMEA has been set.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
