Research on 3PE coating peel strength test for failure modes

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun, 2020
The peel strength test is the main method to evaluate the adhesion performance and coating quality of 3-layerpolyethylene (3PE) coating, and the key information concerning coating process control and raw material performance ofpipeline can be obtained by

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A Modified Failure Mode and Effects Analysis for Linear Accelerator Quality Assurance

open access: yesAdvances in Radiation Oncology
Purpose: Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a proactive method for evaluating failure modes and the consequences of those failures. In radiation therapy, a risk-based approach such as this can be used to inform and drive the quality assurance ...

Experimental Investigation on the Post-Peak Short-Term and Creep Behavior of Fractured Sandstone

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Short-term and creep tests of fractured sandstone with different degrees of damage prepared using pre-peak and post-peak unloading tests on intact sandstone were carried out using a servo-controlled rock mechanics system.

Response of reciprocally supported advanced FRP composite jointed frames - Part 1: Experimental study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper reports on a new experimental study for the behaviour of reciprocally connected and supported Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) hollow square profiles axially loaded under several boundary conditions. The study aims to determine the ultimate load

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Failure analysis of a graphite/epoxy laminate subjected to bolt bearing loads [PDF]

open access: yes
Quasi-isotropic graphite/epoxy laminates (T300/5208) were tested under bolt bearing loads to study failure modes, strengths, and failure energy. Specimens had a range of configurations to produce failures by the three nominal failure modes: tension ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
