Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Optimization Method of Pipeline Inspection Period Considering Corrosion Defects

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
Internal inspection is an important means to identify risks and ensure the safe operation of oil and gas pipelines. A cost-based optimization method with a failure probability threshold as a decisive variable is proposed to balance risk and cost, and ...

Effects of a cooling channel on the creep damage and failure probability of planar solid oxide fuel cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2023
A solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is an all-solid-state chemical power generation device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy in an efficient and environmentally friendly way in medium- and high-temperature environments. However, the thermal

Assessment of probability of failure on rainfall-induced shallow landslides at slope scale using a physical-based model and fuzzy point estimate method

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
Shallow hillslope failure caused by rainfall is characterized by complex soil hydrology and mechanical behavior. It is important to understand the hydraulic behavior of hillslopes and quantify the effect of the uncertainty of mechanical parameters on ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
