Incidental Paratubal Non‐Functional Adrenal Rest in an Adult Female: A Rare Histopathological Finding

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Paratubal adrenal rests, although rare in adult females, should be considered during histopathological evaluation of adnexal tissues, as they may mimic neoplasms or rarely undergo functional or pathological change. Surgeons should be aware of this possibility to avoid unnecessary concern or overtreatment when encountering small yellow nodules ...

Cancer Biomarker Test Utilization and Reimbursement in Australia: A National Analysis of Medicare Data

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Biomarker testing plays a critical role in precision oncology by guiding targeted therapy selection. In Australia, public reimbursement for somatic tumor biomarker tests has expanded over the past decade, yet national data on utilization patterns, equity of access, and public expenditure remain limited. We identified all cancer biomarker tests

Detecting TP53 mutations in paired liquid and tissue biopsies from patients with high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 8, Page 2043-2050, 15 April 2026.
What's New? High‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma is often diagnosed at advanced stages due to non‐specific symptoms and the lack of reliable screening methods. This proof‐of‐concept study introduces a novel TP53 mutation panel using unique molecular identifier‐based next‐generation sequencing for sensitive detection of high‐grade serous ovarian ...

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 31, 16 April 2026.
MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Identification of Compound Heterozygous CYP11A1 Variants via Reanalysis of Clinical Sequencing Data

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 4, Page 923-928, April 2026.
ABSTRACT A molecular diagnosis is currently achievable in approximately 50% of patients assessed by clinical geneticists at tertiary care centres. Next‐Generation Sequencing Panels contain a defined group of genes associated with a clinically defined set of phenotypes.

Survival Outcomes and Sensitivity of PARP Inhibitors in Platinum‐Sensitive Ovarian Cancer: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Poly (ADP‐ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) have reshaped the maintenance treatment of ovarian cancer. However, a significant proportion of patients exhibit primary resistance, highlighting the need for real‐world efficacy data and predictive biomarkers, especially in underrepresented populations.
