Fabrication, falsification and plagiarism [PDF]

open access: yesQJM: An International Journal of Medicine, 2003
‘Many people say that it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character’ —Albert Einstein The Office of Research Integrity of the USA (ORI) issued its annual report for 2001 at the end of last year. It is available on the Internet at [http://ori.dhhs.gov/html/publications/annual‐reports.asp], and anyone interested in ...

The Faraday Scalpel: Electrochemical Nerve Lesioning Mechanisms Studied in Invertebrate Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Direct‐current produces nerve lesioning through discrete electrochemical reactions. Using hypoxia‐sensitive locust nerves and hypoxia‐tolerant leech nerves, we map three injury pathways: cathodic oxygen reduction, cathodic alkalization, and anodic chloride oxidation. These findings establish electrochemical lesioning—the “Faraday Scalpel”—as a precise,

Light‑Driven Propulsion of Graphene Aerogels in Microgravity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultralight graphene aerogels convert laser light into thrust. Parabolic‐flight experiments directly compare their motion in microgravity and at 1 g, revealing order‐of‐magnitude enhancements in distance, velocity, and transient thrust when weight and friction are removed (∼50 times enhancement).

POLITICAL ELITES OF THE COLLECTIVE WEST ON THE FRONTS AND IN THE TRENCHES OF THE COLD WAR WITH RUSSIA

open access: yesСовременная наука и инновации, 2022
In recent years, Russophobia has reached its new historical heights, which makes us look at this phenomenon of political life as yet another aggravation of the collective West against Russia in the Cold War.

Falsification testing for usability inspection method assessment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We need more reliable usability inspection methods (UIMs), but assessment of UIMs has been unreliable [5]. We can only reliably improve UIMs if we have more reliable assessment.

Machine Learning Interatomic Potentials for Energy Materials: Architectures, Training Strategies, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning interatomic potentials bridge quantum accuracy and computational efficiency for materials discovery. Architectures from Gaussian process regression to equivariant graph neural networks, training strategies including active learning and foundation models, and applications in solid‐state electrolytes, batteries, electrocatalysts ...

Induction-Guided Falsification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The induction-guided falsification searches a bounded reachable state space of a transition system for a counterexample that the system satisfies an invariant property. If no counterexamples are found, it tries to verify that the system satisfies the property by mathematical induction on the structure of the reachable state space of the system, from ...

Consumer Health Perceptions of Cows' Milk and Plant‐Based Milk Alternatives

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study used a best‐worst scale experiment to reveal consumers' beliefs about the healthiness of selected cows' milk and plant‐based milk products based on their nutrition panels. We find that while there is heterogeneity in health perceptions, consumers overwhelmingly select skim milk as the healthiest milk product. Additionally, the cows'
