ABSTRACT Background Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) is a common condition among adolescents and young adults (AYAs) and is the leading cause of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in this population. Growing evidence suggests that social determinants of health (SDOH) influence menstrual bleeding patterns, access to care, and treatment. However, no studies have

A field study was conducted to assess the effects of NPK (20:10:10) fertilizer on the performance of FARO 44 lowland rice at two sites in Yaba and Gada Biyu in the southern guinea savanna of Nigeria in 2019 cropping season. At both sites, the experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RBCD) with three replicates. The treatments were

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
