T1 Over Squared Proton Density Ratio to Characterize Multiple Sclerosis Lesions

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Differentiating remyelinated from demyelinated lesions in MS remains challenging without histological confirmation. This study introduces the T1‐to‐PD2 ratio (TPR) imaging approach and evaluates its ability to characterize MS lesions alongside other quantitative MRI (qMRI) metrics. Methods Thirty individuals with MS (mean age: 47.5 ±

Electrochromic Adaptive Solar Heater and Sub‐Ambient Passive Daytime Radiative Cooler

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An electrochromic Cu–Bi nanocluster device dynamically switches between solar heating and daytime sub‐ambient radiative cooling without mechanical motion. Defect‐activated graphene, minimized electrolyte loss, and pulse‐assisted reversible electrodeposition enable opposite solar and mid‐infrared modulation in one opaque platform, establishing a design ...

Ultrathin and Flexible Organic Light‐Addressable Potentiometric Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The first ultrathin, fully organic, and flexible light‐addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) is demonstrated. With a thickness of only 2.3–2.9 µm, this standalone film offers sensitivity to electrolyte potential and stable performance for over 170 days.

Synthetic Toll‐Like Receptors for Control of Innate Immunity With Far‐Red Light

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synthetic Toll‐like receptors (TLRs) are engineered by replacing their natural sensing regions with a far‐red‐light‐responsive module from a bacterial phytochrome. These synthetic receptors enable light‐controlled regulation of immune signaling in mammalian cells.

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Streptavidins Coordinate Biotin Sequestration and Self‐Resistance Within a Biotin‐Pathway Antibiotic Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conserved genomic region between two streptavidin genes in Streptomyces packages biosynthetic gene clusters for diverse biotin‐pathway antibiotics: acidomycin, stravidin, the new non‐proteinogenic amino acid ANDA, and the new BioA inhibitor α‐methyl‐KAPA.

Life in the Fas lane: differential outcomes of Fas signaling

open access: yesCellular and Molecular Life Sciences, 2013
Fas, also known as CD95 or APO-1, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor/nerve growth factor superfamily. Although best characterized in terms of its apoptotic function, recent studies have identified several other cellular responses emanating from Fas. These responses include migration, invasion, inflammation, and proliferation.
