Tissue Expression of the Proteins Fas and Fas Ligand in Colorectal Cancer and Liver Metastases

Journal of Gastrointestinal Cancer, 2011
Our purpose is to study the clinical significance of Fas/FasL expression in colon cancer and liver metastases (LM).The expression of Fas/FasL in 68 patients with colon cancer was examined immunohistochemically and correlated to the clinicopathological features of the tumors.High expression of FasL, was observed in stage D and in LM (p=0.024).

The Expression of Fas Ligand Protein in Ultraviolet-Exposed Rabbit Corneas

Cornea, 2002
Keratocytes undergo apoptosis during various pathologic conditions and after exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR). It was reported that the Fas/Fas ligand system is involved in modulating keratocyte apoptosis. The expression of Fas ligand (FasL) protein was studied in rabbit corneas after photokeratitis induced by different UV wavelengths.Six New ...

Apoptosis-related proteins (Fas, Fas ligand, bcl-2 and p53) in different types of human breast tumors

Oncology Reports, 2002
The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible role of apoptosis-related proteins (ARP: Fas and Fas ligand, bcl-2, p53) in the progress of tumorigenesis in breast cancer. Epithelial tumor cells and lymphocytes were analyzed immunohistochemically for the rate of lymphoid infiltration and presence of ARP in 50 human breast tumors of different types ...

The adaptor protein Grb2 regulates cell surface Fas ligand in Schwann cells

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2008
Fas Ligand (FasL, CD178) is a cytokine that may be secreted or expressed as a transmembrane ligand at the cell surface, and induces apoptosis by binding to the "death receptor" Fas (CD95). Here, we show that Grb2, an SH3 domain-containing adaptor protein, binds to the proline-rich domain of FasL and regulates its cell surface expression.

Protein Expression of Fas, Fas Ligand, Bcl-2 and TGFβ2 and Correlation with Survival in Initial and Recurrent Human Gliomas

Journal of Neuro-Oncology, 2004
Several studies have recently demonstrated that human gliomas express Fas, Fas ligand (FasL), Bcl-2 and TGFbeta2 at some degree. These factors are considered to interact with apoptotic processes and to have immuno-reactive potential. Their role for tumor evasion from the immune surveillance is currently under examination. To date, there is only limited

Erhöhte Expression der Apoptose induzierenden Proteine Fas Antigen und Fas Ligand auf mononukleären Zellen septischer Patienten

1997

Altered protein expression levels of Fas/CD95 and Fas Ligand in differentially vulnerable brain areas in rats after global cerebral ischemia

Neuroscience Letters, 2003
To assess the role of the apoptosis-inducing death receptor Fas/CD95 and Fas Ligand (FasL) after global cerebral ischemia, expression of these proteins was investigated in differentially, i.e. selectively vulnerable brain areas. Following experimentally induced cardiac arrest of 6 min duration, rats were resuscitated.

Induction of FAS ligand expression in a human hepatoblastoma cell line by HCV core protein

Virus Research, 2003
Tumour cells and virus infected cells expressing Fas ligand (FasL) can evade immune surveillance by inducing apoptosis in T cells expressing Fas. In order to characterise a possible role of hepatitis C virus (HCV) core protein in similar mechanisms during HCV infection, we investigated Fas ligand expression and activity in a human hepatoblastoma cell ...

[Expression of Fas, Fas ligand, Fas-associated death domain protein, caspase 8 and mutant P53 protein in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma].

Zhonghua yi xue za zhi, 2008
To investigate the expression of five apoptosis-related proteins, Fas, Fas ligand (FasL), Fas-associated death domain protein (FADD), caspase 8, and mutant p53, in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) tissue, and analyze the association of these proteins with ESCC malignant progression.116 ESCC specimens obtained during operation.
