Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Sensory Properties of Fats and Fat Replacements [PDF]
The typical American diet derives 37% of total daily energy intake from fat.' Fat consumption in the U.S. has been estimated at 98 g/day for men and 65 g/day for women.' Diets low in carbohydrate and fiber but rich in fat have been associated with high prevalence of obesity and elevated risks of coronary artery disease and some forms of cancer.233 ...

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Lipid oxidation in margarine emulsions
Influence of different storage atmosphere (argon and oxygen atmosphere) and influence of monoacylglycerol's emulsifier (with the carbon chain containing 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 carbon atoms and commercial emulsifier D and a model mixture of monoacylglycerols ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Production of biogenic amines by Enterococci
Enterococci were presented in all tested samples of raw cow milk (six samples) at the level 103-105 CFU/ml, fresh cheeses (five samples) at the level 102-106 CFU/g and semi-hard cheeses (five samples) at the level 103-105 CFU/g.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
