FATTY ACID COMPOSITION OF POULTRY MEAT FROM FREE RANGE REARING [PDF]

open access: yesPoljoprivreda, 2000
Two provenances of broiler chickens (Ross and Prelux-bro) were (50 males and 50 females) were subjected to an extensive indoor rearing followed by a free-range rearing for a half of the population during the first 28 days.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

The fatty acid composition of broilers from free range rearing

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2002
The study aimed to investigate the effect of rearing method on the fatty acid composition of broiler meat. The subjects were chickens of two genotypes (Ross 208 and Prelux-bro). Experiment went on for 56 days, chickens were kept in a standard deep litter

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Gene network analysis of fat composition in beef of Bos taurus indicus influenced cattle

open access: yesFrontiers in Animal Science
Fatty acid composition is a key determinant of beef quality, influencing traits such as flavor, tenderness, and nutritional value. Understanding the genetic regulation of fatty acid composition in beef cattle may inform strategies to improve these ...

Modification of CaCo-2 cell membrane fatty acid composition by eicosapentaenoic acid and palmitic acid: effect on cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
Membrane fatty acid composition of CaCo-2 cells was modified by incubating the cells for 8 days in medium containing 100 microM eicosapentaenoic acid or palmitic acid.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.
