Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Holocene seismic activity of the Priene–Sazlı Fault revealed by cosmogenic 36Cl,Western Anatolia, Turkey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Fault scarps in carbonates are structures well suited to 36Cl analysis of paleoearthquakes to reconstruct the seismic history using cosmogenic 36Cl.

Co-Seismic and Post-Seismic Slip Properties Associated with the 2024 M 7.5 Noto Peninsula, Japan Earthquake Determined by GNSS Observations

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Based on GNSS observations, the co-seismic and post-seismic slip of the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake and the spatio-temporal pattern of afterslip are investigated in this paper. The co-seismic slip is mainly distributed in the depth range of 2 to 15 km

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Interpretation of the aeromagnetic anomalies of mainland Scotland using pseudogravimetric transformation and other methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
A procedure to upward continue magnetic anomalies observed on an irregular surface onto a horizontal plane has been developed and applied to the aeromagnetic map of Great Britain.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Palaeolimnology of Lake Sapanca and identification of historic earthquake signals, Northern Anatolian Fault Zone (Turkey)

open access: yes, 2009
Lake Sapanca is located on a strand of the Northern Anatolian Fault Zone (NAFZ, Turkey), where a series of strong earthquakes (Ms >6.0) have occurred over the past hundred years. Identifying prehistoric earthquakes in and around Lake Sapanca is key to a

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Characteristics, causes and significance of subsurface stress field of Beijing earth fissures group

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk
The development of earth fissures in a certain area often has certain genetic correlations, which is called ‘group-developing phenomenon’ of earth fissures. So far, 41 earth fissures have developed in the Beijing area in the North China Plain.
