Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Fault Diagnosis of Hybrid Systems Using Particle Filter Based Hybrid Estimation Algorithm

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2013
Hybrid systems are composed of discrete event dynamic systems and continuous time dynamic systems, which interact with each other. The fault diagnosis of hybrid systems is particularly difficult.

Fault estimation and accommodation for virtual sensor bias fault in image-based visual servoing using particle filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This study develops a fault estimation and accommodation scheme for the image-based visual servoing (IBVS) system to eliminate the effects of the faults due to the image feature extraction task, which is named as bias virtual sensor fault.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Adaptive Observer-Based Fault Estimation for Stochastic Markovian Jumping Systems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
This paper studies the adaptive fault estimation problems for stochastic Markovian jump systems (MJSs) with time delays. With the aid of the selected Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the adaptive fault estimation algorithm based on adaptive observer is ...

Fault analysis of converter interfaced generator embedded power system considering control mode switching

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2023
Converter interfaced generation (CIG) may switch into different control modes under different fault scenarios, which poses a significant challenge to the fault calculation of modern power systems.

Attitude Fault-Tolerant Control of Aerial Robots with Sensor Faults and Disturbances

open access: yesDrones, 2023
In this paper, sensor fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control strategy are investigated for quadcopters under sensor faults and disturbances. We propose the fault diagnosis estimation system and the fault-tolerant control (FTC) method.

Meta-heuristic algorithms in car engine design: a literature survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Meta-heuristic algorithms are often inspired by natural phenomena, including the evolution of species in Darwinian natural selection theory, ant behaviors in biology, flock behaviors of some birds, and annealing in metallurgy.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.
