Line Selection in Active Fault Zones and Meizoseismal Areas

2017
This chapter discusses the spatial distribution of the Kunlun Mountain, Bengcuo, and Yambajan–Damxung–Gulu seismotectonic zones and explains the relationship between active faults and earthquakes, which can severely damage railway structures. The line selection and engineering properties of the Qinghai–Tibet Railway in high-intensity earthquake zones ...

Transient based faulted conductor selection method for double circuit lines

Electric Power Systems Research, 2021
Abstract A simple and fast method to identify the faulted conductors in a double circuit line with the help of a single circuit transient based fault type classifier is presented in this paper. In addition to a transient based single circuit fault type classifier, only currents locally measured through each conductor are required.

Fault Line Selection and Location of Distribution Network Based on Fault Recording Data

2020
Single-phase grounding fault line selection is a long-standing problem in the distribution network. The identification rate of single-phase grounding fault is further reduced due to a large number of grid-connected distributed power supply, as well as short distribution network lines and many branches.

A new principle of fault line selection for distribution

7th International Conference on Developments in Power Systems Protection (DPSP 2001), 2001
Fault line selection is important to maintenance and normal operation of power distribution system. If a fault does not disappear for a long time, it could develop into a phase to phase fault. Then the fault line should be found out as quickly as possible and the fault should be removed.

Two-Dimension Fault Line Selection Method Based on Transient Signal Features of Fault Phase

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
When single-line-to-ground fault happen in neutral non-effectively earthed system, there is a big difference between the fault feeder and un-fault feeder in transient signal energy centralized frequency band and signal amplitude of fault phase. The transient signal energy in fault feeder’s fault phase is bigger, and it centralizes in lower frequency ...

Fault Line Selection in Resonant Grounded System Based on IMEn

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
When the single phase ground fault occurs in resonant grounded system, there are significant differences in the components of fault phase current between fault line and non-fault line. This feature can be reflected by intrinsic mode entropy (IMEn) of fault current. IMEn is a new signal analysis over multiple oscillation levels.

Fault Line Selection Based on the Frequency Characteristics of Feeders

2020 IEEE 3rd Student Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (SCEMS), 2020
In resonant grounding system, the arc suppression coil could improve power supply reliability by compensating for capacitive fault current, which also makes fault line selection more difficult. This paper presents a fault line selection scheme which produces the line selection signal without changing the existing equipment.

Fault phase selection for transmission line based on correlation coefficient

2010 International Conference on Computer Application and System Modeling (ICCASM 2010), 2010
A novel approach of fault detection and fault phase selection based on correlation coefficient for transmission line is presented in the paper. Our main object in this work is to calculate and analyze the feature space relativity in current of different fault types with the same structure and parameters in each relaying location.

Automatic fault line selection technology for small current grounding system

2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE), 2017
The low voltage distribution network in our country widely adopts non-direct grounding system, called as small current grounding system. Single-phase ground fault is the most common occurrence for this system. Now, some power supply departments in our country still recognize fault lines by traditional artificial method, meaning low efficiency and ...

A novel fault line selection method of resonant grounding system

2017 IEEE Conference on Energy Internet and Energy System Integration (EI2), 2017
In order to solve the problems of fault line selection in resonant grounding system, a novel fault line selection method for distribution network was proposed in this paper. First, continuously measure three-phase voltage and zero-sequence voltage, which detects single-phase ground fault.
