A Fault Line Selection Method by Resistive Current for Single-Phase Earth Fault in Network

Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Information Technologies and Electrical Engineering, 2019
Aiming at the question of selecting fault line when single-phase grounded in neutral "point" ineffective ground system, according to resistive current, a criterion of line selection is proposed, and its feasibility is analyzed in depth. When the system detects zero-sequence voltage, the medium resistance is put into the neutral point of the system, and

A New Method for Fault line Selection of Four-Parallel Transmission Lines

2010 Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference, 2010
Based on the theory of twelve sequence components, this paper analyzes the single circuit line fault characteristics of four-parallel transmission lines on the same tower. By use of the relationship of different amplitudes and phases between each sequence components, a new method is proposed for fault line selection of four-parallel transmission lines.

Fault Line Selection with Parallel Supply Lines in Mine Power Systems

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
In mine power systems, false operation and failure operation of relays in parallel supply lines often take place when single phase grounding fault occurs. A novel method based on phase-to-phase current difference is proposed as line selection criterion in this paper.

Attribute selection for fault location recognition in transmission lines

2006 IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting, 2006
After a severe disturbance due to an insulation failure in a transmission line, the precise fault location is a critical problem for the maintenance crew. In order to avoid further economical and social costs, fault diagnosis has to be performed as soon as possible.

Fault Line Selection Method Considering Grounding Fault Angle for Distribution Network

Journal of Northeast Agricultural University (English Edition), 2015
Abstract In the distribution network system with its neutral point grounding via arc suppression coil, when single-phase grounding fault occurred near zero-crossing point of the phase voltage, the inaccuracy of the line selection always existed in existing methods.

A new principle of fault line selection for distribution

7th International Conference on Developments in Power Systems Protection (DPSP 2001), 2001
Fault line selection is important to maintenance and normal operation of power distribution system. If a fault does not disappear for a long time, it could develop into a phase to phase fault. Then the fault line should be found out as quickly as possible and the fault should be removed.

Fault Line Selection and Location of Distribution Network Based on Fault Recording Data

2020
Single-phase grounding fault line selection is a long-standing problem in the distribution network. The identification rate of single-phase grounding fault is further reduced due to a large number of grid-connected distributed power supply, as well as short distribution network lines and many branches.

High-speed faulted-phase selection algorithm for transmission line protection

2013 26th IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2013
A new faulted-phase selection algorithm for non-unit transmission line protection scheme is presented in this paper. The proposed algorithm employs the current signal from only one phase of three-phase system. A short time window of roughly two milliseconds is used for determining the faulted phase involved in single-phase to ground faults, so the ...

Line Selection in Active Fault Zones and Meizoseismal Areas

2017
This chapter discusses the spatial distribution of the Kunlun Mountain, Bengcuo, and Yambajan–Damxung–Gulu seismotectonic zones and explains the relationship between active faults and earthquakes, which can severely damage railway structures. The line selection and engineering properties of the Qinghai–Tibet Railway in high-intensity earthquake zones ...

Fault line selection for single-phase earthed fault based on injected active component

2011 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2011
Concerning the current situation of fault line selection of single phase earthed fault in small-current grounded system, plus with analysis of the advantage and disadvantage of currently used in line selection techniques, a method which makes use of neutral point resistant to discriminate the fault line and the normal line during the single-phase ...
