The improved fault location method for flexible direct current grid based on clustering and iterating algorithm

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2021
The fault location method based on the natural frequency of the fault travelling wave has outstanding superiority in high‐voltage dc system, because of high operation speed, acceptable sampling rate, and so on.

Rearrangement Method of Reducing Fault Location Error in Tied Uncompleted Parallel Lines

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
In Tied Uncompleted Parallel (TUP) line, locating faults via single-ended fault location algorithm leads to a considerable final error yielding unacceptable outage time.

Interaction of piled foundation with a rupturing normal fault [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Post-seismic observations in the 1999 Kocaeli earthquake in Turkey have indicated that piled foundations may be less suitable than stiff mat foundations in defending a structure against a major normal fault rupturing underneath.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A novel fault location method for multi-terminal transmission lines based on composite analysis of time-frequency fault traveling waves

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
In order to solve the problems such as complex fault branch determination, large fault location error and low error tolerance of the existing multi-terminal transmission line (MTTL) fault location method, due to the influence of fault traveling wave (FTW)

System configuration, fault detection, location, isolation and restoration: a review on LVDC Microgrid protections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Low voltage direct current (LVDC) distribution has gained the significant interest of research due to the advancements in power conversion technologies. However, the use of converters has given rise to several technical issues regarding their protections

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

FAULT LOCATION ON A DISTRIBUTION FEEDER USING FAULT GENERATED HIGH FREQUENCY CURRENT SIGNATURES

open access: yesASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development, 2017
This paper describes how the fault generated travelling waves detected in the current signals at a single location on a distribution feeder can be used for fault location.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
