Finite Control Set MPC with Fixed Switching Frequency Applied to a Grid Connected Single-Phase Cascade H-Bridge Inverter

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) has been widely investigated in recent years due to its ability to handle optimization problems with multiple control objectives in a diverse variety of systems. Moreover, its direct implementation in

Adipocyte Myoglobin Is a Determinant of Energy Expenditure and a Potential Target to Limit Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Myoglobin, known as a muscle oxygen‐carrying protein, is shown to play a key role in fat cells that burn energy. Loss of myoglobin reduces the body's ability to generate heat and increases obesity risk, while restoring it improves metabolism. The study identifies myoglobin as a regulator of fat burning and a potential target to enhance energy ...

Time‐optimal finite control set model predictive control of non‐isolated DC–DC converters

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
The authors propose a time‐optimal finite control‐set model predictive control (FCS‐MPC) formulation, generalised to the three most common non‐isolated DC–DC converters (buck, boost, buck–boost) tracking a constant switching frequency.

Comparative analysis of control methods with predictive models of six-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor [PDF]

open access: yesОмский научный вестник, 2020
This article presents a comparison of the performance of the sixphase permanent magnet motor (PMSM) based on two control methods: continuous control set model predictive control (CCSMPC) and a finite control set model predictive control (FCSMPC).

A Simplified Two‐Vector Approach for Common‐Mode Voltage Reduction in Model Predictive Control Drives of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 7, Page 3109-3117, July 2026.
In this study, a modified model predictive control scheme is proposed, in which a dedicated weighting factor is incorporated into the cost function to explicitly account for common‐mode voltage (CMV) effects during the control process. This modification leads to a significant reduction—up to 40%—in the magnitude of the generated CMV.

Integrated FCS-MPC with Synchronous Optimal Pulse-Width Modulation for Enhanced Dynamic Performance in Two-Level Voltage-Source Inverters

open access: yesElectronics
The adoption of synchronous optimal pulse-width modulation (SOPWM) in two-level voltage-source inverters (2L-VSIs) offers low switching-to-fundamental-frequency ratio (SFR) operation while maintaining reduced current total harmonic distortion (THD ...

Disturbance‐Resilient Voltage/Power‐Quality Management for Islanded Inverters Using Self‐Tuning Type‐3 Fuzzy Controller

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 2816-2838, June 2026.
An adaptive fuzzy controller using an interval type‐3 fuzzy logic system replaces the SMC switching term to mitigate chattering while preserving global stability for islanded inverters. Simulations show lower THD, greater robustness to disturbances and parameter variations, and improved voltage‐tracking accuracy, with applicability to other uncertain ...
