‘ThinkCancer!’: randomised feasibility trial of a novel practice-based early cancer diagnosis intervention

open access: yesBJGP Open
Background: UK cancer deaths remain high; primary care is key for earlier cancer diagnosis as half of avoidable delays occur here. Improvement is possible through lower referral thresholds, better guideline adherence, and better safety-netting systems ...

Multi-axis manual controllers: A state-of-the-art report [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
A literature search was carried out to examine the feasibility of a six degree of freedom hand controller. Factors addressed included related areas, approaches to manual control, applications of manual controllers, and selected studies of the human ...

Studies of the $\omega$ meson with the KLOE detector

open access: yes, 2015
The paper presents status of three studies involving the $\omega$ meson using data collected by the KLOE detector. The first two projects are feasibility studies performed on simulated data concerning an upper limit measure ment of BR($\Phi \to \omega ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.
