Profile control scheme in a Bakers' yeast fed‐batch culture
Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1985AbstractThis article develops and discusses a practical and useful computer control scheme so that the biomass concentration or the specific growth rate will as accurately as possible follow a desired profile specified in advance. Many computer simulations certified the validity of the proposed control scheme.

Modelling the production of nisin by Lactococcus lactis in fed-batch culture
Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2005Nisin production in batch culture and fed-batch cultures (sucrose feeding rates were 6, 7, 8, and 10 g l(-1) h(-1), respectively) by Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis ATCC 11454 was investigated. Nisin production showed primary metabolite kinetics, and could be improved apparently by altering the feeding strategy.

Fed-batch and continuous culture ofPhaffia rhodozyma (Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous)
Folia Microbiologica, 1998The basidiomycetous yeastPhaffia rhodozyma was grown in batch, fed-batch and continuous culture, and some parameters governing growth and total carotenoid production were determined.

Optimisation of fed-batch culture of hybridoma cells using genetic algorithms
ISA Transactions, 2001In this paper, a program describing a genetic algorithm is used for optimising fed-batch culture hybridoma cells to obtain the highest yield over certain time period. Optimal feed rate trajectories for a single feed stream containing both glucose and glutamine, and separate feed streams of glucose and glutamine are determined via the genetic algorithm.

[Preparation of fed-batch culture of Nocardioides sp].
Prikladnaia biokhimiia i mikrobiologiia, 2003A screening for carbon sources revealed ethanol to be the best substrate for condensed Nocardioides sp. culture. A strategy achieving the maximum (21 g/l) yield of biomass was developed for the control over the condensed fed-batch culture production. This control based on the algorithm ExpoDense should be predetermined in the first phase and adaptive ...
