Atmospheric chemistry-climate feedbacks [PDF]
We extend the theory of climate feedbacks to include atmospheric chemistry. A change in temperature caused by a radiative forcing will include, in general, a contribution from the chemical change that is fed back into the climate system; likewise, the ...

Feedback and its Feedback Effect on Feedback [PDF]
We show that radiative feedback due to reionization has a pronounced effect on the extent of mechanical feedback due to galactic outflows. The photoionization of the Intergalactic Medium (IGM) suppresses low‐mass galaxy formation by photoheating the gas and limiting atomic line cooling.

Exploring the Impacts of Seagrass on Coupled Marsh-Tidal Flat Morphodynamics
Intertidal coastal environments are prone to changes induced by sea level rise, increases in storminess, temperature, and anthropogenic disturbances. It is unclear how changes in external drivers may affect the dynamics of low energy coastal environments

Understanding the daily cycle of evapotranspiration: a method to quantify the influence of forcings and feedbacks [PDF]
A method to analyze the daily cycle of evapotranspiration over land is presented. It quantifies the influence of external forcings, such as radiation and advection, and of internal feedbacks induced by boundary layer, surface layer, and land surface ...

A New Pathway for Communicating the 11-year Solar Cycle Signal to the QBO [PDF]
[1] The response of the equatorial quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO) to zonal-mean ozone perturbations consistent with the 11-year solar cycle is examined using a 2 1/2 dimensional model of the tropical stratosphere.

A GIS-toolbox for a landscape structure based Wind Erosion Risk Assessment (WERA)
The landscape structure influences the local wind field by lowering the wind speed and thus reducing the wind erosion risk. An important parameter is the height of each landscape element, as this determines the length of wind protection behind it ...

Audio Feedback – Better Feedback? [PDF]
AbstractNational Student Survey (NSS) results show that many students are dissatisfied with the amount and quality of feedback they get for their work. This study reports on two case studies in which we tried to address these issues by introducing audio feedback to one undergraduate (UG) and one postgraduate (PG) class, respectively.

Génération et régulation d’émotions académiques chez les étudiants
In a context where emotions and cognition are inseparably linked (Fischer, 2020), this research examines the impact of feedback delivered through the FB4You application on students’ emotions and their regulation at the University of Liège.

Collapse of social-ecological systems (SESs) is a common process in human history. Depletion of natural resources, scarcity of human capital, or both, is/are common pathways toward collapse.

Life history and mating systems select for male biased parasitism mediated through natural selection and ecological feedbacks [PDF]
Males are often the "sicker" sex with male biased parasitism found in a taxonomically diverse range of species. There is considerable interest in the processes that could underlie the evolution of sex-biased parasitism.
