The involvement of ferredoxin-NADP+ reductase in cyclic electron transport in chloroplasts
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics, 1981The sites of action, in spinach thylakoid, of known inhibitors of electron transport at the reducing end of photosystem I have been more accurately located by parallel investigation of effects on three partial reactions: photo-reduction (from water) of added NADP+, photoreduction of added cytochrome c, and dark reduction of cyto-chrome c by added NADPH.

In Vitro and In Vivo Interactions of Ferredoxin-NADP+ Reductases in Pseudomonas putida
The Journal of Biochemistry, 2009Ferredoxin-NADP(+) reductase (Fpr) is known to control NADP(+)/NADPH pool in proteobacteria. There is only one fpr gene present in most proteobacteria, but Pseudomonas putida has two Fprs (FprA and FprB). We elucidated the functional relationships between the two types of Fpr and their electron transport partners [ferredoxin (Fd) and flavodoxin (Fld ...

Interaction of ferredoxin-NADP+ reductase from Anabaena with its substrates
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1991The interaction of ferredoxin-NADP+ reductase from the cyanobacterium Anabaena variabilis with its substrates, NADP+ and ferredoxin, has been studied by difference absorption spectroscopy. Several structural analogs of NADP+ have been shown to form complexes the stabilities of which are strongly dependent on the ionic strength of the medium.

Purification, properties, and cellular localization of Euglena ferredoxin-NADP reductase
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics, 1987Ferredoxin-NADP reductase from Euglena gracilis Klebs var. Bacillaris Cori purified to apparent homogeneity, yields a typical 36 kDa and an unusual 15 kDa polypeptide on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, exhibits a typical flavoprotein spectrum, contains FAD, and catalyzes NADPH-dependent iodonitrotetrazolium-violet diaphorase,

A lysyl residue at the NADP binding site of ferredoxin-NADP reductase
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1976Dansyl chloride, at low molar ratio, inactivates ferredoxin-NADP reductase (NADPH:ferredoxin oxidoreductase, EC 1.6.7.1). The complete protection afforded either by NADP or NADPH suggests a direct involvement of the active site. Experiments with [Me-14C] dansyl chloride showed that about 1.5 residues per flavin were dansylated: by differential ...

Immunological studies of the binding protein for chloroplast ferredoxin-NADP+ reductase
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1987Monospecific rabbit antibodies against the ferredoxin-NADP+ reductase binding protein of spinach thylakoids were obtained and characterized. The immunoglobulin G (IgG) fraction gave single precipitation arcs with the purified antigen or with Triton X-100 extracts of thylakoids or the reductase binding protein complex.

Structure and Function of Ferredoxin-NADP Reductase Complex
1990In 1963, Shin et al. (1) first isolated ferredoxin-NADP reductase (FNR, EC. 1.18.1.2) in crystalline form from spinach and demonstrated that the crystallized enzyme reduced NADP when it was added back together with ferredoxin to illuminated chloroplasts from which “built-in” FNR had been removed.

Interaction between ferredoxin and ferredoxin-NADP reductase from chloroplasts
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1968Abstract The photochemical reduction of pyridine nucleotides in isolated chloroplasts was shown to proceed via ferredoxin and ferredoxin-NADP reductase ( Shin et , al. , 1963 . The latter enzyme is a flavoprotein which can also mediate the transfer of electrons in reverse, from NADPH to ferredoxin (Lazzarini and San Pietro, 1962) , or to ...

[40] Ferredoxin-NADP reductase from spinach
1971Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the determination of ferredoxin–NADP reductase from spinach. Ferredoxin–NADP reductase is a chloroplast flavoprotein and catalyzes the reduction of NADP with reduced ferredoxin. The crystalline enzyme shows not only ferredoxin–NADP reductase activity, but also a number of other enzymatic activities, such as ...
